One Call Away

It’s the middle of the night and I can’t sleep,
There’s something I need to tell you.
It may not, or perhaps it may mean something to you.
But I need to get this burden off my shoulder.
No, it’s important, and so it can’t be a burden.
I believe,
distance is just a number. Age is just a number.
Sometimes, I don’t.
Right now, I think it’s only a number.
Some numbers are bigger than other numbers.
That’s all the math I know.
But I think I can manage this (letter?) with all I know.
The promise I will make here,
Is the promise I will keep.
I promise.
No matter how far I am,
whether in the same home, or in a  different nation,
No matter how old I am,
Sixteen or Sixty,
No matter what I’m doing,
Sleeping or busy with a surgery,
You, will be on my mind.
No matter what relationship we have,
I will think of you.
What I think of you, doesn’t matter.
I will think of you.
And just so you know,
I will always be there for you.
I will always be there
when you’re lonely.
When you will forget who you were.
When you will fall.
I will be the hammock underneath you,
and the armor that will protect your heart.
I will be the petals you walk on,
and the sea bed when you will be drowning.
I will be one call away. Just a call.
Or text, like they do these days.
Whenever you need me, Wherever you need me.
I will think of you, and I will be there for you.
That is the least I can do for you,
for letting me love you.
